Government Funding for Childcare in BC: CCFRI and ACCB

Childcare in British Columbia is supported by two major government funding programs to help reduce costs for families: the Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI) and the Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB). Below is an overview of these programs, details about IC Early Learning Center, and steps to apply for the ACCB online.

IC Early Learning Center

IC Early Learning Center is a Licensed Group Childcare facility for children under 36 months. This means we meet all government licensing requirements, just like other well-known daycares operating in commercial settings. However, we operate with smaller cohorts, which allows us to provide more individualized attention to each child and build stronger connections with our families.

As a licensed provider, we are eligible for the highest amount of government funding through CCFRI and ACCB, significantly reducing childcare fees for parents.

Child Care Fee Reduction Initiative (CCFRI)

The CCFRI provides funding directly to licensed childcare providers to lower tuition fees for families.

  • Our daycare participates in the CCFRI program.
  • The tuition fee of $950 per month for your child is already reduced through CCFRI funding. Before CCFRI, the tuition fee was $1,850 per month. This means you are already benefiting from lower childcare costs thanks to this initiative.

Affordable Child Care Benefit (ACCB)

The ACCB is a government subsidy that helps eligible families with the cost of childcare based on their income and family size. Parents may be eligible for additional financial support through the ACCB.

We strongly encourage all families to check their eligibility and apply for the ACCB. For more information on the program, eligibility requirements, and an online estimator, visit the ACCB website.

Important Note: Before their ACCB approval, parents need to pay for the tuition fee. Once the funding is approved and IC Early Learning Center receives the funding, we will contact the parents to either reimburse the payment or leave it as a credit in the ledger to be used in the future.
